About

Did you know: In 2020, the Australian Government reported that women made up only 28% of the workforce in STEM qualified fields. They also found that the gender pay gap in STEM-qualified industries was $28,994. Statistics like these are why the ANU Women* in STEM Leadership Conference exist.

Their purpose is to strengthen the community of women* in STEM across ANU, to build confidence within these students by enabling them to learn from each other and more senior mentors, and finally, to empower the students with skills development. It’s a great place to dabble in some networking, to make new friends, and to think about our future.

This will be the third year of the conference, which has grown with every year. The conference is during the mid-semester break. It’s freecatered, and packed with events and activities that encourage both leadership + professional development, provide insight from academics + industry professionals, and provide opportunities to meet likeminded peers in similar and differing fields.
